Girls of Recife is part two of a major feature story called Brazilian Street Diary.
Set in the violent and dangerous northern port city of Recife, it was the center of unemployment and European sex trade making for a tragic combination.  I spent three months on the streets with various groups of girls.
The very young survived in street gangs with drugs and crime while the older girls turned to prostitution.
